Chapter 1

Julie Larimore.

I’ve dated more than my fair share of girls in my life—and I’ve hooked up with handfuls more that were never elevated to “dating” status—but no single one of them affected me the way that Julie Larimore did. When that tiny tornado swept into my life, she took me for a loop, had my head spinning, and left the landscape of my world changed forever… and, God damn it, I’m grateful.

The first time I—or, rather, we—saw Julie, I knew that I had to have her. And, Andy knew he had to have her, too. She looked so sexy, and so out of place, standing amongst her friends in the bar. She wasn’t the typical type that happened into a place like Charlie’s, as it was largely a college hang out populated with the more “mainstream students,” such as guys like me and Andy and lots of hot girls for us to pick from, like fresh, ripe produce in a grocery store.

Only thing is, the hot girls at Charlie’s all, pretty much, looked the same. Every which way you turned, any night of the week, you could find different versions of the same girl—the only noticeable variations between them was in their bra size, the shade of blonde they’d chosen to dye their hair, and how “easy” they got with a few drinks in them. But not Julie.

She was different.

Like every other girl in Charlie’s, Julie’s hair color came from a bottle, but it was dyed a much darker color—a color, I guess you could say, that isn’t really even natural. And, on Julie, it was supernatural… a dark, warm red with black undertones. It hung so sleek from her, it looked like satin. Her skin, on the other hand, was fair, not pale or like ivory, but something warmer; and he eyes were a piercing blue that I could see with great clarity despite the twenty feet or so that separated us.

Yes, it is possible for a 22-year-old man to look at a woman this way. Like I said, I’ve had my fair share of girls, so when one really stands out to me, I really take the time to appreciate everything about her.

And there was a lot to appreciate about Julie. She stood at about 5’5”, with a slim, tight body that stuck out in all the right places, and he face look like it jumped right out of a painting. She had three tattoos on her right arm—three different flowers—which was three more than anyone else had visible in Charlie’s on that, or just about any other, evening.

She was beautiful. She was hot. She was sexy. She was a rose amongst thorns—or, perhaps, vice versa. And, not to be vulgar, but I totally wanted to bang her.

All I had to do was look at Andy to know he was thinking, or feeling, the same thing—and, the moment he looked back at me, it registered with, him, too, that I’d set my eyes on tonight’s target.
